6 Months

Well today my baby turns 6 Months old! I can't believe it! Half away to 1! Where has the time gone?

At the beginning of March Ruger was holding his own bottle, eating baby fruit with his cereal and sleeping through the night. He is still doing all of the above except sleeping through the night! I think he has hit the 6 month growth spirt. At least I hope its just that.:) He was having cereal only twice a day, but we have just started him on 3 times a day to see if that helps with his sleeping. So far hasn't helped, its extended his sleep by an hour sometimes two but he is still getting up in the middle of the night as if he is starving. He is so funny to watch when you feed him veggies, when I get the video loaded to the computer I will post it. Its hilarious. He will eat fruit and yogurt every meal if I would let him.We got him a high chair finally and he knows when he gets put in it he gets food and if you don't have it ready for him soon after, he lets ya know it!  We tried a sippy cup for the first time the other day. He seems to be doing pretty good with it.

He is very vocal! ha ha I can't get enough of his little chatter and growling. Especially when Mazie is around, he will growl and laugh at her. He is constantly reaching for things, when its time for bed I fed him on the couch and then go lay him down, but before he will settle down enough to eat he was to reach for everything in arms length. Once he realizes he isn't going to get it he lays down.

He is starting to pay a lot more attention to what daddy does, if he walks out of the room without saying he will be back in a min, Ruger cries. Its kinda cute actually. He is becoming a daddy's boy and mommy isn't sure how she feels about that yet. :)

His favorite songs right now are, head, shoulders, knees and toes, patty cake, and this little piggy. He giggles when you do the actions with his hands and touch his toes. He really likes "George Monkey" AKA Curious George... He use to watch Eebee Baby on Netflix but we watched Curious George once and he yelled more at the TV so I guess he likes it more.

He is now sitting alone and when he wants something he takes off for it. It doesn't matter if he nose dives or falls over backwards. He will lay down and roll to it. We are working on crawling. I don't think it will be long before he is really into everything!

Ruger had is first St. Patricks day, we were in Vernal UT, helping some friends move, but I didn't forget his green. He is our little leprechaun! We were going to go swimming at the Holiday Inn while we were there but the water was to cold. Ruger had a good time in his floaty before we left thought!

We made a trip to ID the first part of March, while we were there we had to make a stop at CAL Ranch. They don't have one here in Rock Springs. I found a John Deere hat! I put it on Ruger and he just sat there with it on his head. So Cute!

After we got what we needed we headed to Ashton. When we got there, Grace, Josh and Harper were at Grandma's house. We sat Ruger and Harper next to each other and they could pass as twins!

I forgot to make caramel popcorn for Grandpa Heiner (Paul) so when we got back to Rock Springs Mitch and I made some. We sent Grandpa these pictures.

Yes he got a hand full! He was mad when I tried to take it back!

It was pretty warm outside for a week or two so during that time I swept the garage, and raked the back yard. I needed Mitch's help picking up the piles so when he got home from work we put Ruger on the deck in his jumper with his sunglasses and he just played. He didn't once try to take is glasses off, Mitch had to take them off when he took him back in the house. Silly boy!

Last night we were giving Ruger a bath and I realize I didn't have any pictures of him in the tub! I have video because he loves to splash. His baths are his favorite thing to do. He loves the water.

These are pictures I took today for his 6 Month photos. We will have more come Easter but this is all for now. I love this little guy so much. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't laugh and have fun. There are days that we cry but it wouldn't be life if we didn't have both. Love you Ruger Shane, Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

5 Months

Well February Ruger learned a lot! He finally learned how to roll over both directions! He also was starting to sit up. He finds his toes in the bath tub and that is all he wants to play with. We give him little bath toys but no he wants his toes. He loves playing with the dog. He loves her and she loves him, she is so funny to watch with him. If he is playing on the ground she will lay her head in his hands and look at him til he starts to play. Sometimes she looks at me like she is asking for help, he does have a good grip so when he gets a hold of her sometime she can't get out without being saved.

Feb 3rd was Super Bowl Sunday. We dressed Ruger up in a 49ers outfit courtesy of Jen! That day I will never forget. It was just after the game ended, Ruger just started laughing! It went on for a long time too.

Ruger had his first Valentines Day!

As you can see with the pictures he is starting to sit up with help.

 Sleepy Baby!

Mitch and were driving around one day, we both had our sunglasses on so Ruger thought he needed his too!

On February 9th, Mitch, Ruger and I had an amazing experience. We were able to be sealed in the Rexburg, ID Temple for Eternity. It was such a blessing to be able to have our family and friends their for that special day. It is so comforting to know that we can be together as a family forever. Ruger won't remember it but he will defiantly have a different story than the rest of his siblings.
Pictures to come...

4 Months

Where do I start. I just love watching this little one grow. He makes me smile and laugh everyday. Such a blessing to us. We brought the New Year in at our home in Rock Springs. We invited some people over to come and hang out maybe play some games, but that didn't work out. Didn't matter to us though we had fun anyway. Ruger was imitating sounds like crazy. While we were at Grandma and Grandpa Wrights everyone was teaching him how to blow bubbles and try to blow raspberries. Its cute how hard he would try. When he would actually make the sound it surprised even him! His favorite thing in January was watching our dog Mazie. Those two have become best friends. He would watch her like a hawk and if she went up the stairs he would lean to see where she went. He still wasn't a huge tummy time fan. He would rather sit on your lap or be in the jumper where he could see everything going on.

I started him on cereal just a couple of days before his 4 month birthday. He loved it! He got so mad when it was all gone. He needed a bath by then, which is by far his most favorite thing to do (has been since day 1.) so we put him in the tub, where he splashed and screamed with joy.

Every time I look at Ruger there is a certain look he will give me and he looks just like his Great Grandpa Heiner. I can't believe how much he looks like him. We laugh every time we get that look. I call Great Grandpa Heiner "Trouble" so I call Ruger "Double Trouble". He just gets that mischievous look that Great Grandpa gets. :) Love you Grandpa!

New Church outfit!

3 Months

Well the week after we blessed Ruger, we were in ID for his cousins Hudson and Lottie to be blessed. We were in ID every weekend in December. Starting the 9th of December Ruger and I stayed in ID at Grandma and Grandpa Wrights house for a week. During that week Ruger found his hands! He was so funny playing with his hands and he was just starting to growl at everything. The 12th was a special day for his Uncle Hadley and Aunt Madison, that was our whole reason for staying the week!

On the 15th was Ruger's First Christmas party! He met Santa for the first time! He didn't know what to think at first, he looked at him for a while then decided he would rather not sit on his lap. Maybe next year. :)  I know we got it on video and camera but somehow they got deleted off my camera so I will have to get pictures from my mom! I hope she has some!

After getting back to WY from the last trip home Mitch and I had discussed getting a bigger vehicle. I still wasn't quite sure about it, I liked my car and it had good fuel mileage. Ha ha that meant I could go to ID more. So we got new tires for the car so Mitch felt safer about me driving by myself. The Thursday before we headed to ID. We bought a new car. A GMC Yukon. I love it. I was mad at the fact that I spent a lot of money on new tires and didn't get to take them off the Cobalt before trading it in. We shouldn't have bought them in the first place. Oh well lesson learned! Merry Christmas to me!

We loaded up the new car with all the goodies and headed to ID for Christmas. We stayed in Ashton for a couple nights. Christmas eve we went to dinner and a movie with the Heiner Family. Christmas morning was so much fun! Ruger although he was almost 3 months and didn't know what was going on, he still looked like he was enjoying his new toys. Santa brought him a jumper which he loves! He will play in that thing for hours. He also got a rocking horse from Santa, and a few toys to play in the car with. Santa must have know how much time this kid spends in the car ;) He was spoiled as we thought he would. Later that day we had Christmas with his Great Grandpa Thon Powell and Aunts Sandra and Shellie. They spoiled him as well. This year we did something we haven't done before. My siblings drew names, Mykala had drawn my name. I told her don't worry about getting me anything just get Ruger something. She did! He loves the toy puppy that she gave him. Hadley and Madison got him some clothes. At least Hadley won't let him get out of style. :) He was pretty beat after opening presents. He was out shortly after getting him dressed for the day.

By is 3 month birthday Ruger was 13 lbs 6 oz. and jabbering all the time, had the cutest little expressions. He really liked being at Grandma's house with Aunt Mykala! He had learned how to make is toys work. It has been so much fun watching him grow and learn. I swear he learns something new everyday!

Hopefully I can find some pictures of him sitting on Santa's lap. I will post those as soon as I can.

2 Months

Well I just realized that I forgot to mention in my last post that right before Halloween Ruger weighed 9 lbs. He was growing so fast! By the his 2 month birthday he was 12 lbs 4 oz. and 23 1/2 inches long.

We went to ID for Thanksgiving, it was so much fun being with family and seeing all the babes and how much they were growing! We spent the day at the Heiner home in Ashton. The boys went skeet shooting that morning and we had an awesome dinner that afternoon. That Sunday, November 25, 2012, we blessed Ruger in my parents ward in Rexburg. It was such an amazing experience I've been to lots of baby blessings but Mitch being able to bless our baby boy just made it that more special. I am so thankful for the priesthood in our lives. That in itself is a blessing. I am so proud of Mitch for everything he has accomplished over the last 2 1/2 years.

By his 2 month birthday Ruger loved to sit in mommy's lap and play with toys. He wasn't to fond of tummy time. He didn't know what to think of the bumbo chair. He would sit in my lap, but the min I tried to put him in the bumbo he would arch his back and throw a fit. He does the same with his car seat. Poor kid seems like he lived in that thing. He loves his glowworm that lights up and plays music. That was the only thing that would put him to sleep for a while. Thanks to my Mom and Dad for that! He also loves the vibrator bouncy chair with lights. He would play in that til he got hungry. :)  He learned how to reach and play with toys at 2 months. He also found his tongue and thumb, Grandpa Wright wasn't to hip about that one! He is such a sweet baby, pretty good for the most part. We sure do love him! He just smiles at everything!

We did family pictures for Christmas cards. Its hard to get a baby, the dog, and Mitch looking at the camera at the same time! ha ha enjoy!

1 Month

Ruger's first month of life was a crazy one! My mom and sister came to AZ the Monday after Ruger was born. That is when the fun started. Ruger's first doctors visit was that day at 1pm. They flew in at noon and my awesome friend Heather picked them up at the airport and brought them to our apartment. From there we headed straight to the doctor. There is when we discovered that Ruger's bili ruben was elevated. We didn't know how elevated the doctor just said she would call me with the results as soon they were in. We didn't hear from the doctor until 7 or 8 that evening. She called and said it was elevated to a 17 and that we needed to get the ER immediately and have another test drawn up. We made our way to the ER. We were there for about 4 hrs. The ER doctor finally came back and said that his bili was now up to a 20. I was instructed by Ruger's pediatrician that we call her with the results and she would let us know what she wanted us to do. After speaking with her and her speaking with the ER doctor she wanted us to go to Phoenix Children's Hospital. They asked if we wanted an ambulance transport. We said no that we would take the paper work and head over. We waited longer for the paper work than we did for his test results to come back. We finally made it to Phoenix Children's around 1am. I was a basket case. Its one thing to see a baby attached to all the wires and lights, but its another to have it be your baby. I was really glad my mom was there. She jumped right in when I needed her to. My poor mom and sister, they hadn't even unpacked their suit cases. They left with Mitch around 4am and headed back to the apartment. Mitch had it the worst after getting home around 5 ish he got in the shower and then headed to school. He hadn't slept since Sunday night. Kory, Mitch's friend, got a good laugh cuz he almost fell into his lap more than once falling asleep in class that day! Around 1pm I spoke with the nurse in the NICU and she said we would get to go home as soon as the doctor signed the forms. I was so excited I text Mitch and he went home and picked up my mom and sister and they came to the hospital. We were thinking a couple of hours and we'd get to go home. Wrong again, they left Ruger off the lights from 1pm til we left... at 9pm! I was so mad, if I would have known it was going to be that long I would have made sure they put him back under the lights. His numbers were down but the light would have helped it get lower quicker.
The only picture I have of him at the hospital is with Grandma holding him! I wasn't worried about getting pictures. ha ha.

I found a picture of him with the light after we got home from the hospital!

After being home for a day or two we went to the doctor for a follow up, his numbers were still a little high, I told her I wasn't going to go back to a hospital, I would rent a light and do it at home. She agreed, later that day a light was delivered to our apartment. I was glad we didn't have to make another visit to the hospital. His numbers came down and he was looking great.

Mykala and mom had to constantly ask to hold him... my bad, I was just loving him so much. Mykala was such a big help with him. We got some good laughs when she changed him or helped bath him! Love you Mykala! I wished we would have gotten more pictures while we were in AZ. I have a few on my phone I just need to figure out how to get them on the computer. I was so grateful Mom and Mykala were able to come and be with me and help. They flew back to ID on the 15th of October. They were able to stay for two weeks.

Paul and Lynda were able to come help us pack up and drive back to ID. They flew in on Thurs the 18th so they could be there for Mitch's graduation on Friday. After graduation we hit the road to ID. We made it to Cedar City Friday night and stay there. We arrived in Rexburg Saturday evening and unloaded our stuff into a storage unit and stayed at my parents for a couple of weeks.

We celebrated my dad's birthday a couple of days after we got to ID. We got Ruger some moose slippers while we were in AZ, I searched the internet and found my dad some just like it! So that's what we gave him for his birthday. We also got Ruger a shirt that says "Grandpa's lil' huntin' buddy!" We dressed him all up in his new shirt and moose slippers and meet grandpa down stairs when he got home from work. It was a fun night!

On Ruger's 1 month birthday my mom and sister threw us a baby shower! It was so good to see everyone! We had fun, and as always Ruger was spoiled. Thanks everyone who attended! We appreciate everything you guys have done and continue to do by showing your love and support!

Ruger's First time at Church!

For Halloween we were still in ID so before Mitch left for Rock Springs to go to work we took some pictures. They turned out so cute! He wasn't to sure about the whole pumpkin thing but it was fun non the less.
